Sri Nihal Tammana is a 12-year-old TEDx Speaker, Environmentalist and Founder of a nonprofit organization Recycle My Battery (https://recyclemybattery.org/). His mission is to pivot the mindset of people with respect to their disposal of used batteries and to create public awareness on the ill effects of indiscriminate and unscientific ways of battery disposal. He strongly believes that these best practices at an early stage of life will take our generation a long way in making us better citizens and be impactful for our own and future generations to come. Till now, he along with his amazing team (145+ young kids) have collected and recycled more than 150,000+ used batteries, educated more than one million people on the importance and need of recycling used batteries properly. Sri Nihal is also the recipient of many national and international awards like US President Environmental Youth Award, NJ Governor’s Award, Jefferson Award, International Eco Hero Award etc.
