(Microbiology and Bioremediation)

Dr Anjum Singhal presently teaches Environmental Studies in University of Delhi. She has completed her PhD from University School of Environment Management, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi in the area of nanobiotechnology, microbiology and bioremediation. The research topic is entitled as, ‘Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles, their Characterization and Applicability: An Environmentally Benign Approach’. Her research work includes synthesis of silver nanoparticles using biological/waste products and their characterisation by using various analytical instruments such as Transmission Electron Microscopy (shape and size), X-ray Diffraction study (crystallinity), Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (organic functional groups) and Zeta Potential study (stability). Further, application of silver nanoparticles as antimicrobial agents and evaluation of their catalytic property in toxic dye degradation. Further, she Post Graduated in M.Sc. Environment Management from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and Graduated in Environmental Sciences (B.Sc.) from Ramjas College (Delhi University), member of NSS and Biological Society ‘GENESIS’, Ramjas College.
